Mary, who was 85, was a native of Boley Hse Ballylinan, and was from a farming background. When she married Michael Lyons 60 years ago, she came to live in Oakpark. For the past 35 years she lived for a short time in Rathcrogue before moving to her home in Ballinacarrig. She was devoted to her daughters and grandchildren. She had a great love for the land, and gardening, and was often seen walking her dog on the main Carlow-Wexford road. By coincidence, her only sister Kitty Farrell Ballycorman, Ballylinan died two days later. Her remains were removed from R. Healey funeral home on Thursday to the Holy Family church Askea. She was buried in St. Mary’s cemetery after requiem mass on Friday morning. She will be sadly missed by her husband Michael, daughters Breda Keane and Paula Lyons, son-in-law Michael Keane, grandchildren Denis, Michael and Sofia, great grandchildren, nephews, relatives and friends.
